inventory, purchasing& manufacturing

Stock you can trust, from the supplier to the shelf to the finished product.

Products

Inventory → Products → New product: name, SKU, sale price, cost, tax rate, unit of measure and a reorder level. When stock falls to the reorder level the product is flagged so you know to buy more. Products can also be published to your online store or marked as rentable.

Warehouses and stock

  • Inventory → Stock levels shows quantities per product and warehouse. Add warehouses here.
  • Stock only changes through stock moves: receipts, deliveries, manufacturing, point-of-sale sales and adjustments. Moves are never edited or deleted, so the stock ledger is a complete history.
  • Adjust stock after a count: enter the real quantity and a reason; the difference is recorded as a move.

Purchasing

  1. Purchase → New RFQ (request for quotation): vendor and lines.
  2. Confirm it when the vendor agrees (needs Purchase: confirm order).
  3. Receive the goods into a warehouse when they arrive; stock goes up.
  4. Create bill to record what you owe the vendor, then post and pay it in Invoicing.

Received orders can't be cancelled, and each purchase order can be billed once.

Manufacturing

  1. Bills of materials: what goes into one unit of a finished product.
  2. Manufacturing orders: choose the product and quantity, Confirm, then Produce. Components are consumed and finished goods are added to stock in one step.
  3. Production is blocked if components are short, or if any required quality check is pending or failed.

Quality

  • Quality points define checks (for example "inspect welds" on a product).
  • Quality checks are created from those points when goods are received or manufactured; inspectors mark them pass or fail.
  • Quality alerts record problems for follow-up.

Maintenance

Register equipment, then log maintenance requests (corrective or preventive). For equipment with a preventive interval, requests are created automatically when maintenance falls due.

Product lifecycle (change control)

Propose an engineering change to a bill of materials, have it reviewed, and apply it as a new version once approved. The person who requested a change can't approve it.

IoT devices

Connect scales, sensors and meters with the IoT Devices app. Each device gets its own secret key and sends readings to Simbako ERP over HTTPS; see API, webhooks & custom fields.
